Mr. Arcaro served  homemade capoletti soup, small and large antipastos with his homemade meats  anchovies, cheeses,  and shrimp.  The menu varied from soft and hard shell crabs which he drove to Boston and Rhode Island to purchase.  Lobster, New York strips,  Delmonico and T bone steaks, veal and pork chops calabraise,  chicken/veal francaise, shrimp scampi, homemade  gnoochis and raviolli  were the staples, veal marsala, peel and eat shrimp affordable to everyone, shrimp cocktail, broiled scallops, Italian style haddock,  mussels marinara a fav of the scranton  mayor at the time, chicken strips wine/mushrooms or butter /garlic,  clams in wine or butter and garlic  to name a few.  Mr. Arcaro always treated his patrons with dignity and respect.  A free drink to his loyal patrons was the norm.  The dining area was designed by an interior decorator and red, red, was the color back then.   A  mural of the poodle bar is probably still there underneath the decades of paint from tenants that rented the business.   I remember having to tell the line of people waiting behind the door that there is no more room and the wait would be too long.   Pizza of course was served.  Double crusted white, spinach, broccoli, anchovie pizza,  and shrimp and hot peppers,  sausage and peppers pizza were the specialities.   Many times the phone would have to be taken off the hook because the pizza orders where too overwhelming. The baker often wondered how such a small place could need so much pizza dough.   After the business was established and maintained Mr. Arcaro again decided to move on.   He became a state employee for 10 years.  He rented the business to two local area young men for a time and his brother and sister-in law.  Mrs. Arcaro his wife was always there helping out as best she could.
