Anthony's of Old Forge

Page 3

Anthony Arcaro Junior returned from Key West and took over the business.  The name of the establishment was eventually changed to Anthony's of Old Forge.   His son Anthony is Anthony's of Old Forge.  Anthony Junior expanded the menu to include ceaser salad and his homemade ceaser salad dressing, homeade french onion soup augratin.   He served cajon style seafood, blackened steak, Key lime pie, my mothers homemade cheese cakes and his own rice pudding,  escargo,  veal oscco bucco, buffalo shrimp,  squid, calamari, stuffed shrimp, haddock and lobster with crabmeat,  You name it, he could cook it, as he was cooking at age 8.   He was born to cook. He attended culinary school in Rhode Island but his greatest teacher was his father.   Sadly Anthony lost all interest in the business and cooking since the death of his father 1997.  He managed a Country Club for several years until his health started to fail.  After the death of her husband and concern for her son,   Mrs. Arcaro decided to sell the business and the building.  She chose an employee who worked for Anthony for 9 years and was eager to take over.   The new owner had the eagerness and interest needed to manage a business and work long hours  Mrs. Arcaro continued again to assist the new owners until July 2009 when she developed cancer.     The Anthony Arcaro family is glad that Anthony's of Old Forge continues to be a pleasant place to dine, my father was ahead of his time as many of his menu items continue to evolve into the future.
